Just trying to find out if you are accepting credit cards at your shop and how have they made it better or worse for your business. If not, why have you not because of the cheaper rates on terminals that accept all types of cards at a good rate.

I find that the rates are not that bad myself. It's convenient and it keeps customers happy. I mean who wants to run to an ATM anyway. I think it is a great idea to provide it, there are a few providers that don't even do credit checks either!

Default Credit Cards - 03-21-2008, 02:29 AM

Yes I do accept credit cards. It’s convenient for my customers, cuts down on the frequent trips to the bank, and has completely eliminated NSF fee when checks don’t clear (I no longer accept checks). I also find that my customers who use debit or credit cards purchase more retail items.

I opened a salon in June '06,and w/i months I had my terminal after doing some research first. The rates are fine, and I got my terminal for FREE!!!!!!Of course I will have to return it if I ever terminated services w/them.However it's been A Ok so far.So I find that offering the terminal has been great for my business, and like someone else stated.Less trips to the bank

Right now we don't accept credit cards. Several people that I know that do were dissatisfied with the service and having problems with the rates. I'll consider it if I can a decent servicer.

Yes! It is a must, but make sure you research the company you will be using to process your transactions. The fees vary and there maybe some hidden costs.

Do you find that more of your clients are using the machine versus cash?

Default E'rybody gotta swipe! - 03-27-2008, 09:49 PM

As we all know there has been a push to plastic for a while, and Visa and Mastercard are runnin' commercials showin' that payin' with cash slows everybody down. I think that most people carry around some sorta plastic card 'cause it is more convenient than looking for .12 in your glove compartment for a $5.12 pack of Newports at the 7/11. If anyone is looking for a contact for machines, give me a shout I got a guy that will set you up and the rates and service are fantastic. If you want to take your shop to that next level how can you not accept plastic. I mean even the Gov't is handin' out money for Welfare/Disability through cards... and some of your clients are all ballers round the beginning of the month!
