I know that if you want to be a success, you have to be a hustler and good with people.

I definitely did not realize that so many other salons are looking for booth renters. I will probably need to continue to work alone because my salon is small and I have had up to 4 clients at one time very comfortably because I move fast.  It would be a disaster if I had more stylists though.

Know demographically where you want to open your salon, type of furniture and equipment, products, phone services, etc .  I just researched until I got what I wanted and I used personal funds I saved to open my salon.  Few rules I implement in my salon

1.  Friends and Family must pay for services as well , 2.  Deal with booth renters that pay on time, go getter and not threaten by anyone, 3.  Offer services that you would like to receive, 4.  Promote fly hairstyles as well as promoting healthy hair, 5.  Do comment sheets, 6. NO CREDIT

I am happy to be a Salon Owner/Stylist.  I am always trying to find ways to improve and offer different services.
