Default Are you losing customers? - 04-06-2008, 08:07 PM

So I was up late last nite talkin to a good friend in NC and other than th normal round of bullshit convo, she tells me that she's noticing a slow down and feels like she is losing clients to a new competitor down the block. Has this happened to anyone and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that she could use... Holla back!

Respectfully yours,

I don't own a shop but I will one day.....but maybe your friend could create coupons for special services. Put complimentary doughnuts out for clients, keep files for regular clients so that when someone birthday comes they can receive discounted services and or a gift bag......I don't know if your friend has a barber shop but if so they can have father/son days......weekly lottery for free services......you can also pass out flyers, if she has a barber shop.....she can do charity cuts at orphanages, churches and take the opportunity to pass out flyers.....i hope this helps

Good Idea... she is the owner of a barbershop. Real cool chick too... but I'll tell her some of those ideas!

I was gonna say some of the same. She has to offer something the competitors are not. That's what my mom always tells me.I have complimentary tea, coffee, and cocoa for my clients.I give them discounts at Christmas time.I give out gifts on my anniversary and also at Christmas. She can run some specials to try and attract new clients. And if she keeps records she can mail out haven't seen u in a while cards offering discounts.Good luck

Default box o joe - 05-03-2008, 09:06 PM

If your salon/shop doesn't offer coffee, grab a box in the morning. With it grab a bunch of donut holes and offer only 3 of them w/either coffee or water. (If you don't have bottled service, get it) To any client that is in the salon processing.
Sometimes clients are very hungry, but they are not gonna share this with you. Yet I say 3 donut holes because everyone is on a diet and we don't want to offend thee.
So the cost is cheap, the client isn't going to pass out, and it may reflect in your tip!
Happy trimmin ya'll!

Default you have to ask yourself one question... - 05-04-2008, 06:26 AM

Why did we get into this industry? She had gotten it because she knew that she could do something better, give them something that others would not! Keep it simple, never forget the beginning... Conversation rules the world not your education, however with more education people understand why you charge more and why our $ keep going up. Lets turn this back into the best in customer service or "NOW" is always a great time to get better in our customer service. Are you engaging with everyone in your neighborhood does everyone know who she is and why she is doing here thing. She should never worry about whats new or who is doing what, there is enough business for everyone! Honestly she should have already had that neighborhood on LOCK!!! Tell her it is time...

Valentine-
