Default Caucasian working in a mostly black shop? - 10-12-2008, 09:29 PM

I would like to hear opinions on this issue. I am a 35 yr. old caucasian who is a newly licensed barber. There are not to many white barbershops near me where I can build a good clientele, most are in bad locations or are not taking on more barbers now. I found what could be a good shop but it is mostly african american clientele. They claim that they do get white people from time to time. Now the funny thing is is that I feel more comfortable cutting a.a. hair because that is all I did in school (most schools are like that now). I would like to hear some thoughts/opinions on this issue as I am almost ready to take a booth. If you are african american have you ever had any white barbers working for you to break things up a bit and if so, how did it go? Thanks.

Default It dosent matter... - 11-29-2008, 06:39 AM

you are going to cutt where ya want to cutt at...

If you did Black folks hair in school then you are ready one up, so why are you posting this up... Or you cant handle the folks looking at you up, and down, sizing you up before they even think, about stepping in your chair. Then you go work at the white shop... "DAMN" see you already did. I see that you found your white shop to work in, that's coo. However you already know how to cut black folks so why are you in a white shop? It is a comfort thing, aint it? Black folks get their hair cut WAY more offten than white folks so I have know idea why you trying to do that comfort thing anyways, TO TRULY GROW AS A MAN YOU MUST BECOME UNCORMFORTABLE!!!

If you dont want to stand out, than that tells me as a "boss" it will take you 5yrs to become good instead of 2yrs.

Go back to all of the black shops and see who has the biggest overflow of guest that you can walk in and start cutting. Who will give you the biggest commission, or the cheapest chair, and start the biggest guest following that anyone has ever seen wit your white azz! If you truly want to make some "chedda" Get your skill up and a small following. That is all you need, give them (your new guest only for that first 6-9 months the best deal ever...fucc it in todays times give them that first year! INVEST in your future, for someone that feels love, returns love... (more of their friends!)

When you or anyone figure this out in their own time, you and them will have the biggest following "EVER!"

I hate to be the first one to say this... anyone who stands out Black, White, Hispanic, Asin, Middle Estern I dont give a fucc wheir you are from... get yo azz in a differnt shop with a differnt following and you will blow the fucc- up!!! For everyone wants something differnt however everyone is to scared to go out and do something about this... So bring it to them...

On the real... It has nothing to do with your skin tone... or theirs... you are just giving me excuses so you will "NEVER" make real $$$! PEOPLE ARE SO SO SCARED OF SUCUSS! So tell me again what the fucc- we are doing here if the bottom goal is not equal to mine?
Your are thirty five and just getting out of hair school... and you are still a scared little boy at thirty five... You must stop right now and do something differnt for that is how you will truly grow.

Thank you for your time and wish you the best in what ever you choose,

I am co-owner of a Barber/Beauty Salon in the DFW Metroplex (Texas) and I'll hire all the Barbers & Stylist of any race. Why would you limit your money maaaaaaaaan . We service all ethnicities (by design). We have limited ourselves too long by only serving our own race of people. We are no longer the only ones who can cut African American's hair, so you better learn to cut other races hair. You know that anything we do we do better! So lets Get That Money Man! Home
